Assessment Policy
Assessment & Evaluation Guidelines
Following the comprehensive continuous evaluation model laid down by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Continuous Evaluation
Assessments are conducted regularly to provide diagnostic feedback and enhance learning experiences. There are four assessments in an academic year, two in each term. Every assessment is divided into a Pen & Paper Test and a Learning Activity. For learning activities, various methods such as oral work, mind maps, open-book assignments, classroom discussions, project work, research, experimentation, and written worksheets are employed.
Examination Structure & Promotion Criteria
The academic session includes Two Periodic Tests, one Half Yearly Examination, and one Annual Examination.
- It is mandatory to appear for and pass the Annual Examinations to get promoted to the next class with a minimum of 40% marks in cumulative theory and practical/assessment of notebooks, assignments, and subject enrichment activities separately.
- If a child scores less than the minimum passing marks in up to two subjects in cumulative results, she/he will be required to appear for a re-examination.
- Students studying in classes VI–VIII must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance throughout the academic session.
- No retest will be conducted in case of absenteeism in Periodic Tests, unless the child is officially representing the school in competitions with prior written permission from the Headmistress.
- Retest for Half Yearly or Annual Examinations will be considered only in cases of severe ailments supported by authentic medical records submitted on the same day.
